Google offers $30 million lunar prize

Google is offering up to $30 million prize money for the first private company to land a rover on the moon and beam back a gigabyte of pics and video.
Google has partnered with the X Prize Foundation for this lunar challenge, they are the guys who put up the prize for the first manned private spaceflight which was won by Scaled Composites SpaceShipOne.
The winning team has to land their spacecraft on the moon successfully and then trek at least 400 metres across the lunar surface while sending the gigabyte of data.
It’s an awesome challenge and good on Google for backing it.
