Space Shuttle Mission STS-117
The Space Shuttle Atlantis blasted off from the Cape on Friday to begin it’s 11 day mission, during which it will dock with the International Space Station (ISS) to deliver equipment and replace an ISS crew member who has been there for 6 months.
STS-117 is the 118th Space Shuttle flight and will be the 21st flight to the ISS.
