Asus have unveiled their new EeePC laptop at the Computex show in Taipei. It’s an ultra portable unit which weighs only 890 grams and comes with either 4, 8 or 16GB of flash based storage (no hard drive).

In case you were wondering, the stupid sounding name is an acronym for “Easy to learn, Easy to work, Easy to play”. Stupid name aside though, the EeePC is a well featured machine with built-in wireless, webcam, microphone and half a gig of RAM.

The EeePC will be available later this year starting from an amazing US$199 for the 4GB model. At that price I am betting that it will be a red hot selling christmas item this year.
