According to HollywoodNorthReport.com, Scott Derrickson will direct FOX’s remake of the 1951 sci-fi classic The Day The Earth Stood Still. There are not many details at the moment but it looks like the story of Klaatu and his robot Gort’s quest to save humanity from self destruction will be filmed in Vancouver. The original was a masterpiece, it will be interesting what they do with the remake. I just hope they don’t completely f*ck it up.
