Ubuntu 7.04 beta released

Ubuntu 7.04 beta was released a few days ago and it’s a significant update from 6.10 with a lot of new features. One such new feature that should cause Microsoft some concern is that the new installer now features a Windows migration tool. The tool allows you to import into Ubuntu all your Internet Explorer bookmarks, Firefox favourites, desktop wallpapers, AOL IM contacts, and Yahoo IM contacts from a windows partition. Very handy imo.
Other key new features include:
Easy-to-install codec wizards that try to find the necessary codecs automatically upon opening a media file.
Much improved support for both wired and wireless networks.
Plug and play network sharing.
The final version of 7.04 is expected to be released next month.
