Internet use in China may soon surpass US
According to a chinese think-tank the number of internet users in China will overtake the US within two years.
Last year China had an estimated 10% of the population online, about 137 million users, a 23% increase from the previous year. There were 210 million internet users in the US last year out of a population of 300 million which equates to 70% of the population.
China is expecting an even faster internet use growth rate in 2007 and 2008.
