Squirrels once ruled the sky
The first animals to fly were squirrel-like mammals according to scientists who have published their findings in the scientific journal Nature. These “squirrels” lived about 125 million years ago and appear to have discovered flight before the first birds. The flying furballs went extinct without leaving any descendants.
