NASA World Wind
NASA is about to release a new version of World Wind.
World Wind lets you zoom from satellite altitude into any place on Earth. Leveraging Landsat satellite imagery and Shuttle Radar Topography Mission data, World Wind lets you experience Earth terrain in visually rich 3D, just as if you were really there.
When i first discovered World Wind (before Google Earth days) I thought it was the most amazing piece of software on the internet. Have a look at the promo video for version 1.4.. I can’t wait for this one!

I love world wind, it’s very different to google earth.. it has a lot more scientific uses.
