Samsung in partnership with a Korean University have released the latest in “must have” home security gadgets. They have unveiled a machine-gun wielding robotic sentry equipped with night vision and sophisticated pattern recognition that can distinguish between humans and non-threatening objects such as trees.

The robots are meant for deployment along the border of North and South Korea. In a bid to soften their image the robots also include a speaker which can be used to politely issue a warning before shooting the target in the head.
